Foliodrape – disposable drapes reduce exposure to risk in the operating room

Foliodrape provides for secure and reliable draping of the patient and the surrounding area in all surgical procedures. The innovative material properties significantly help reduce contamination risks.

Foliodrape surgical drapes are as absorbent as textile drapes and are also completely impervious to fluids and impermeable to germs. The material has antistatic properties to prevent any adverse effect on equipment in the surgical environment. Foliodrape can be easily disposed of by the usual methods. The material can be incinerated in an incineration plant with no harmful residues. Because Foliodrape drape sets do not contaminate ground water, they can also be sent to a waste disposal site under the regulations.

Foliodrape surgical drape sets contain no natural latex. Foliodrape Urology Set I and Foliodrape Urology Set II with latex finger stalls are exceptions.

Material properties

Foliodrape consists of a three-layer composite that can absorb body fluids and at the same time provide a barrier against fluids and microorganisms.

The absorbent nonwoven top layer forms a three-dimensional structure (orange skin structure) that can bind and retain body fluids in the operating room.
Pore-free, impermeable polyethylene reduces the risk of infection after surgical procedures by preventing the migration of pathogenic germs from the patient’s skin into the open wound.
The bottom layer absorbs the patient’s perspiration without sticking to skin.
